Tomato Vegetable Soup

Ingredients

1 bag Success® White or Success® Brown Rice
1 can (6 oz) tomato paste
1 tsp sugar
1 tsp salt
1 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp dried oregano leaves, crushed
1/4 tsp dried basil leaves, crushed
2 cans (14 oz each ) stewed tomatoes
1/2 cup onion, chopped
1/2 cup celery, sliced
1/2 cup carrots, sliced

Directions

Prepare rice according to package directions.

Combine tomato paste, sugar and seasonings in a large saucepan or Dutch oven.  Add all remaining ingredients except rice.  Bring to a boil over medium high heat.  Reduce heat to low; simmer 20 minutes.  Stir in rice; heat thoroughly, stirring occasionally.
Brown Rice is an excellent source of whole grains.
